TAG How much is your face worth?

I saw this tag on Sprinkle of Glitters blog and really liked it so I decided to do it just for a laugh, not that I have been "tagged" or anything but hey! Who Cares!!!
Now I just did my make up this morning and as I don't start work until late today I tend to take a lot longer to put on my face than when I have to get up at 6am to do it! Today in particular I had a mare doing it for some reason eye liner was not playing ball!!! So I also happen to use ALOT of products on my eyes to try and make it too better.... It didn't really work and I just gave up in the end!
Face:
  • Bobbi Brown Extra SPF25 Moisturising balm £62
  • Bioderma Sebium Mat - Anti shine fluid £10 (approx i got it for ALOT less in France)
  • YVES SAINT LAURENT Le Teint Touche Éclat foundation in BD20 (sample at the moment as I am just trying it out) £28/for full size
  • Collection 2000 Lasting perfection concealer in Medium 3 £3.99
  • Illamasqua Cream pigment in Emerge for under eye correction £17
  • Illamasqua Loose powder in Translucent £23
  • MAC Bronzer Gold-Go-Lightly Studio Careblend/Pressed £19

  • MAC French Violet pigment £16.50

Lips:
  • Kehl's LIP BALM #1 in Mango £9.50
FACE TOTAL: £312.49
Erm............................................. Whoops! Hahahah I'm not really sure what to say I mean I don't tend to use this many products on a day to day basis but I do use most of the items that I have put in red daily, which is still shocking. But I do believe you get what you pay for with certain products hence why they are high end brands, especially with skin care are foundations. I might try this is on 6am work day too just to see the difference.
I would LOVE to see how much your face costs please send me links of leave a comment as I really like this tag.....
I would very much like to see Becca do this one!
Caio for now! xoxox

How to turn £20 shoes into £100 shoes!!!

Hey guys,
So several months ago I was walking around John Lewis and saw a beautiful pair of cork neutral wedges which have Swarovski crystals on the wedge and I thought wow they are stunning and so simple. But then I looked at the £100+ Price tag and thought hold on a minute I can recreate those I am sure!

So after a few weeks of looking for a pair of inexpensive shoes that are the same style I was finally able to make my own pair. I stumbled across a lovely pair of beige/cream cork wedges in New look for only £19.99 which are available online here and I have just seen they are in Orange too!!! Hmmm more inspiration is running through me right now!!!

I have always had a stock of Swarovski crystals in my craft lot as I use then for decorating things and my face all the time!!! Don't worry I don't always walk around with them stuck on me! I think I love those crystals in the same way that my sister loves goggly eyes! Oh I nearly forgot to mention the wonder eBay seller I buy ALL of my crystals from.... This shop is a treasure trove!

So I dug out a selection of crystals that I wanted to use and roughly placed them on the wedge to see if I liked the look before I got glue happy. I chose to use this selection just for reference...

  • SS10 3mm Black diamond non hot fix
  • SS16 4mm Black diamond non hot fix
  • SS12 3.2mm Clear non hot fix
  • SS6 2mm Clear non hot fix
It was very simple all I did is use the GEM-TAC Permanent adhesive which I also bought the the eBay shop and it lasts FOREVER as you only need a small amount! Pour some of the glue out on the work surface and use a cocktail stock/orange stick/kebab stick basically whatever you have thats pointy and put very small blobs on glue where you want the crystals to be but honestly you need so little glue as you don't want it the squidge outside of the crystal otherwise you'll see the sheen of it when it dries. Then I use a damp cotton bud to pick up the crystals on by one and place then on the glue and then press them with your finger. Do as many or as few as you would like and you can do patterns or randomness like I have its up to you to get creative!

So here they are....

I still think I need to get a few more size of crystals to add more to them but I do like the way the look at the moment I think it's subtle enough to be noticed without being OTT. I plan to wear these with my Laura Ashley Beach Hut dress for a Christening that I have at the end of next month as I am going to be Godmother (very exciting) and I think they will look perfect as well as being a bit more secure than a stiletto incase I have to hold baby!!!

Tell me what you think of my shoes, would you do this? Have you done something similar? I would love to see if you have!!!

xoxo

P.S. I added several more crystals to the shoes as I felt they needed more to look more complete so heres the Instagram piccy I took of them before wearing them the next day!!!

MAC Hey, Sailor! Collection Summer 2012

Okay gonna start straight off with this one yes I bought it all myself, no I am not rich I just decided that I wanted these goodies more than I wanted to eat or do anything else at all this month! I know it is a lot of make up and I know its a waste of money but I don't have a life so who cares, this makes me smile!
No you may know I am OBSESSED with anything Union Jack related or Anchor related!!! So this collection was always going to hurt my wallet! But to be honest I love it I never saw the first sailor collection which was I believe 2007 Naughty Nauticals I mean I picked things up at CCO's but not when the collection came out. As I wasn't really a massive MAC fan then. Also I would like to say I am not a collector I use my products and there are so many brands that do equally or better products just look at my Inglot palettes! I just have issues with anything Sea related!!!

So lets get started....

 High-Light Powder in Crew
This highlighter is very pretty, the colours of the pattern are just an overlay so sadly will disappear very soon :( but i love the powder. Know I am not a massive highlighter fan to be honest I do not like heavy shimmer as I don't have the best skin and I really don't need to draw any attention to my face! However this one seems to be a happy medium its highlightery enough to be of use but not a shimmer brick so I think I will like this greatly The colour is pink based but just looks like luminous skin more than a colour! On me anyway! I tried to swatch this but it didn't show hence why it isn't included in the swatches.
Lipsticks in Salute! (Amplified)  and Red Racer (Satin)
I am not a huge lipstick fan but when my lips are in good condition I do wear them and I am addicted to red lips but I wont bother unless my lips are smooth as hell. I just hate the feeling that I can feel the lippie gathering on my lips. So it will be interesting to see what these are like on. Swatching them the Red looks lovely a very flat pillar box red I think this will suit a lot of people. Now Salute! I am not too sure about it didn't look as orange toned on the website as It is in real life but it still may be workable, I shall have to let you know on this one!
Eye pencil in Blue Stripe and Power point lip pencil in Shore Leave
I love blue eyeliner its my second go to next to a black. My favourite is Petrol Blue from MAC I haven't a clue what collection it was from but it's lovely. This is similar and metallic too so I cannot wait to wear this one!
I do not have many lip liners but I thought it would be nice to try one with a lipgloss which is the lip product I tend to wear more often than anything else so I wanted something not pink not coral kind of in the middle and I saw this in the collection and thought why the hell not!
Lipgless in Send Me Sailing and Orange Tempera
So basically I bought the gloss to match the lippie! Woohooo clever thinking! I love red lip glosses as its an easy introduction to a red lip, you can make it sheer or whack it on top of a lip stick and amp up the drama! A neutral and a red, you just cannot go wrong!
Suntints SPF20 Liquid lip balm in Au Rose
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL I do not know why I haven't tried one of these before they are so yummy the colour is subtle but just enough plus the smell and moisturise is heavenly! I may be tempted to get the other two of these from this collection
Eyeshadows in Jaunty and Nautical Navy
Well the blue was going to be a given, its a deep navy with blue glitter, very fine and very pretty. Jaunty is a lovely bronzed antiqued gold perfect everyday colour.
Bronzing Powder in Soft Sand
Bit scared about this one I took a chance and guessed on the website as all 4 bronzers looked the same dark tone so I risked it for a biscuit! I will have to try this in the morning. I have the Go-Go-Lightly from the Surf by collection and I use that on most days and that looked similar in the pan so it may just require a light hand and dual fiber brush!
Blusher in Lunch Away!
This is a matte blusher with a peached toned baby pink colour it's lovely although it is very light, so it may not be great for you medium to dark skin toned beauties!

Cute temporary tattoos that were in my box!

So what did you get? Do you love or hate the packaging? Have you any questions?
Stay salty sea dogs!!!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Review & Swatches!

Well I could not wait to get my hands on these over hyped bad boys! After months of reading about them and seeing them all over Youtube I knew I wanted a couple at least to just try and see what they are like!

Luckily I popped into Boots on my lunch break today and saw the pop up stand with these on!! Now they were not meant to be put out until tomorrow so they had covered the 3 for 2 signs on the display but I just asked them and smiled a lot! So the assistant gave them to me with the offer but would only let me buy three. Boohooo!!! So I picked up the three neutrals which seemed the most versatile.

I am rather confused why they have changed all the names from the launch in the US and also why there has been no hype and a big launch for them here in the UK. They seem to really leave us out for these kind of things. Now this is the conversion as far as I can see...
On and on Bronze = Audacious Asphalt
Permanent Taupe = Tough as Taupe
Immortal Charcoal = Bad to the Bronze

The product was £4.99 each on 3 for 2 which made them £9.98 for three!!! Which is pretty good to be honest. I haven't tried them out on my eyes yet, that will be tomorrows please but I wanted to put this up as soon as possible as they are meant to be launched on 3 for 2 tomorrow in all Boots. My local Boots is pretty small so I am hoping people will be able to get their hands on them even if they are not able to get to a larger store.

Let me know if any of you would recommend the bright ones as I wasn't sure if I would use them enough to warrant paying for all of the colours!

Little MAC Haul!

Hello there people of the world!

I have a little MAC haul to share with you today. I ordered these products on the collection release day in the UK which I believe was the Thursday 1st March. They took about a week or so to arrive which was a little slow but thats the free delivery for ya!

So I bought 2 products from the Shop/Cook collection and 1 from the Vera collection. I had spent many hours reading Temptalia's posts on these collection and what I really desired rather than just wanted for the sake of wanting. I have never tried the tendertones and all the talk and the hype made me want to try one hence the purchase of Tread Gently. This is also my first creme blush from MAC and the face powder was just too pretty to pass up on!
My three goodies totalling £50!!!
MAC Tendertone in Tread Gently £ 11.00
MAC Cremeblend Blush in Florida £17.50

Pearlmatte Face Powder in SUnday Afternoon £21.50
I love the look of this powder it's so beautiful, I haven't used any of these products yet but I cannot wait to do so!!!
Oh and I thought I would addd this picture in and the end for fun. Inside my box, which by the way was a massive box considering the size of the 3 products that had to be shipped together, I had two sheets of stickers from the Shop/Cook collection! Random but hey!!!

What did you buy from the latest MAC collection's if anything??? xoxoxo

Cute weekend Manicure

Hello there,
This weekend I had the please of having three lovely ladies come stay with me for the weekend and we got to have a really nice night our. We drank lots, ate even more were able to spend a good 4 hours getting ready to go out! Which is a luxury you only get when you go out with the girls!

So my sister asked me to do her nails for her so I thought I would show you what I did.
I LOVED this look on her, I used OPI Chip skip before applying the OPI Natural Nail Base. Then I applied 2 coats of OPI's "Peppes Purple Passion" which I believe is from the Muppets collection. On the ring fingers I used the OPI shatter in Silver Shatter then I did a cute little bit of nail art on the thumbs with a skull on one and cross bones on the other. My sister is Skull mad so she loved it!!!

Just thought I'd share this with you as I was proud of what I had created!!! xoxo

Naughty Little Shopping Haul from London

So I had a little visit to London on Sunday to catch up with a friend and we ended up doing a little shopping which isn't goo as I said I wasn't going to shop... so this is how much I shop when I am not shopping!!

Derma Colour - Camouflage Mini Palette - In Fair £14.60

Illamasqua Eyelashes 008 In the sale for only £5!!!
Illamasqua Matt Primer + SPF 20 £19.50
Illamasqua Skin Base 07 £25
This is my second bottle of the Skin Base I love it. My last bottle still has some left but I didn't want to risk not getting in when I run out.
Illamasqua Precision Ink In Abyss £17
From Charles Fox In Covent Garden
Glitter Gel £2.95
Kryolan Glimmer 25/175 in Pastel Pink (left) £5.25

Kryolan Glimmer 25/200 in Black (bottom) £5.25
Kryolan Palette = M13, Rosewood and Bamboo £17
Big Bertha disposable mascara wands £6.95
This was my not so naughty naughty purchase, as it could have been a lot naughtier! This is a beautiful Michael Kors purse/wrist wallet. It was 30% off so it came down to £31.50 and I love it. They had the bag version of this purse in the sale too but it was only reduced by $45 so still at £295 was far to much in my opinion. It was lovely though! Maybe next time.

Inglot Palette Number Four - Swatches

YAY Finally I hear you say! Since I have got quite a bit of interest in my blog with regards to my Inglot swatches I decided to swatch the last palette for you to all see! This, I think, is my most forgotten about palette, as I get distracted by the bright colours  and sparkles in the other ones but you will see there are some decent dents in this palette. When I do remember to use it I love it! You can see second row from the top and the middle shade is very well used, this was in my original 10 pan palette which I purchased in the middle of 2009!!

This is the whole palette, beautiful isn't it!

 496DS, 35AMC, 447P, 501DS, 448P.
 353M, 352M, 467DS, 488DS, 431P.
 341M, 368M, 361M, 393P, 328M.
463DS, 80AMC, 34AMC, 34AMC, 430P.
Yes I realise my massive error on this row.
Two of the same shadow! BUT to my defense they don't actually look the same, putting the pans side by side one is more orange and warmer than the other. I have honestly only just realised this as well! Hahahaha EPIC FAIL. Well at least they swatch differently!

Oh well, that's all my Inglot eyeshadows hope you have enjoyed this little swatch fest!
xoxo
